And so it happened that Sherlock fell in love with John.
OH MY FKSJFKSKDLSJFKS THIS IS SO FREAKING CUTE.
But but but but, If he heard any of what was happening on the roof then what was with the ending and…..
I am so confused.
what is this
my brain is exploding
someone tell me this is drawn in there
or i will die of too many theories
Wait… excuse me? What is that in his ear anyway? o.O
I just checked and this isn’t photoshopped or anything. But… what is it?
oh my god.
What is that…
I checked as well, it’s definitely there originally.
I dont understand…what is this :s
Sherlock planted the earpiece on John
Sherlock had the other earpiece
He was going to wait until after John had ran to his fake dead body
and then he was going to tell John through the earpiece something along the lines of ‘i’m not dead, but keep going. a sniper has his sights on you’
but because John fell over and the earpiece fell out
Sherlock couldn’t tell him
Mother of God.
no it can’t
My question is when would Sherlock have had the time to plant it/who could have planted it on John? Perhaps I need to watch the episode again, but I don’t recall many people having that much access to his head, and an earpiece that is so carefully placed seems really difficult to plant subtly. I’m almost positive John would have known or at least felt it at some time if he hadn’t been the one to put it in himself… Maybe it was something that just happened off screen, who knows. Either way, that seems really fucking important.
It wasn’t meant to be part of the story, it was just for Martin Freeman’s line cues. I can’t remember where I read that way back when s2 was a baby, but it’s out there somewhere if anyone cares to research it.
What’s funny about this is that in Star Trek he’s quoting Sherlock Holmes, but in Sherlock he’s quoting Spock.
Although the original quote was from Sherlock Holmes. It was used in TOS and then in Star Trek (2009) as a reference to SH. Then in Sherlock 2x02, Sherlock says it and John calls him ‘Spock’ as though it’s a reference to Star Trek and Wibbly Wobbly Inception of the quote, yo.
Canonically Spock is a descendant of Sherlock Holmes.
Wait, really? ^^^^
Yep. Star Trek 6 Spock says “An ancestor of mine once said ‘If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains however improbable must be the truth.”
No, Spock is not canonically descended from Sherlock Holmes, considering just like in TNG the Sherlock Holmes stories are traditional Earth FICTION in TOS.
If we assume it was one of his human ancestors (and not just a coincidental thing with one of his Vulcan ancestors), it therefore means that Spock is descended from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which is probably more awesome when you think about it.
